Certification Process


Companies on our directory are vetted in order to become RenovationFind certified. We use a third-party organization to pre-screen and continually monitor seven of the most important criteria to provide homeowners with legitimate, ethical and trustworthy companies. Our stringent process eliminates companies who have had extensive legal problems, signs of financial trouble and have had numerous customer complaints. We recognize situations can change over time so an important part of our process is that we continue to monitor the companies ensuring they maintain our high level of standards. We remove companies that fall below our standards. We hope to provide consumers with home renovation companies who rise above their competitors in quality, service, workmanship and business practices. Our process is an effort to prevent consumers from getting ripped off and only promote the MOST TRUSTED and BEST companies on RenovationFind.com.

Legal Background Checks

Suits, liens, and judgements against the companies are pre-screened and must meet our criteria before they are given legal clearance to be on our directory and certified. We continually monitor their legal situation to ensure they maintain their clearance status.

Credit Background Checks

A company's credit status is pre-screened and must meet our minimum criteria before they are given financial clearance to be on our directory. We continually monitor their credit to ensure they maintain their clearance status.

3.

Customer Complaints

We monitor complaints but we do not publish them. We are not a review website so there are no FAKE reviews. We investigate and validate the legitimacy of the complaints. Companies must maintain a high-level of customer satisfaction and we will remove them from our directory if they do not uphold our standards.

4.

Better Business Bureau (BBB)

Companies are encouraged to be BBB accredited to show customers they are committed to resolve any consumer complaints. Companies who are BBB accredited are monitored and must maintain a BBB rating of A-.

5.

Municipal Business License

We request proof of valid municipal business license to ensure the business is legitimate and complies with local laws and regulations.

6.

Business Insurance

We request proof of valid business insurance to ensure the business is properly insured for damages.

7.

Provincial Worker's Compensation Coverage

We verify if companies have the provincial worker's compensation coverage and ensure they continue to have valid coverage.

2. Understand the ratings

Every company on our directory are vetted and must pass our stringent pre-screening process as well as maintain our high standards in order to be part of RenovationFind.com. We have made it really easy for you to identify which companies meet or exceed our minimum requirements. At minimum, a company will be given an A- rating if they meet our minimum requirements. Please refer to our Rating System.


3. View company profile

Click on "View Profile" to view more information on a company and if you are interested, you can contact them from their profile page.

  • Request a quote or service by contacting them using the Email button
  • Check out their website by clicking their website links
  • Check out their social media pages by clicking on their social media links
  • What they are rated and an explanation of their rating
  • Showroom/office address and hours of operation
  • View their gallery of pictures pertaining to their work
